{"id":85,"date":"2014-08-09T02:13:00","date_gmt":"2014-08-08T17:13:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/unkaizan.com\/en\/2014\/08\/09\/its-new-year-here\/"},"modified":"2014-08-09T02:13:00","modified_gmt":"2014-08-08T17:13:00","slug":"its-new-year-here","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unkaizan.com\/en\/2014\/08\/09\/its-new-year-here\/","title":{"rendered":"It&#8217;s New Year here"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello everyone,<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Slamat Hari Raya&#8212;&#8211;!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>July 28th &amp; 29th were New Year&#8217;s Days for the Malay people in Malaysia.<br \/>\nMuslims get ready for this big event by going through one month of fasting prior to thier new year&#8217;s.<br \/>\nSo everybody go nuts to celebrate after the fasting like there is no other days in a whole year.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"pict\" src=\"\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/25\/blog_import_592fef30466f5.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>They dress up in new traditional clothes and visit around relatives, cousins, friends&#8217; friends, neighbors, colleagues etc. In one day, we move houses to houses as long as the day lasts.<br \/>\nRemember? People go crazy to celebrate this!<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Especially to kids, or whoever have not married. They get special allowance on this new year&#8217;s day! So nice, right!<br \/>\n(In Japan the usual tradition is to gather at grandparents&#8217; house.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"pict\" src=\"\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/25\/blog_import_592fef3132c58.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"pict\" src=\"\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/25\/blog_import_592fef322e418.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In my case, I visited 5 houses in 4 hours this year.<br \/>\nYou are offered (or almost forced to taste) the food everywhere you go.
